Intra-Faith Community Relations Committee

The Intra-Faith Community Relations Committee is responsible for the relationships between Muslims and other Muslims, both within ICNE and between ICNE and other masjids in the Greater Boston area. Our goal is to ensure that ICNE is a place where everybody feels connected and welcome, Insha’Allah.
We plan a variety of social and education programs hoping to build close bonds and friendships across racial and ethnic lines; between ICNE’s Quincy and Sharon campuses; and between new converts and life-long Muslims. We hope to increase our community’s awareness of ways in which some of our brothers and sisters face additional, systemic barriers to inclusion and equity in American society, and look for ways to make ICNE an actively anti-racist community.
We are always interested in suggestions of topics that we should address, or new ways to address them!

Contact us with any questions or concerns at intra-faith@icne.net.

If you’d like to join our team, or help with our work, please fill out this form.

To promote connections and harmony between different groups within our own community.
To create and strengthen bonds between members of ICNE and members of other Boston-area masjids.
To take pro-active steps to make ICNE an anti-racist community that promotes racial equity both within our own community and in the Greater Boston area.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The Islamic Center of New England (ICNE) stands firmly opposed to all forms of racism, within our community and beyond in accordance with Islamic Teachings as interpreted by our Imams. ICNE consciously strives to maintain an environment that prioritizes safety, respect and inclusivity for all

The Anti-Racism Policy memorializes ICNE’s longstanding commitment to the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, whether intentional or unintentional, within our community, باذن الله.

  1. The Board will appoint a supervisory body for ensuring that this policy is upheld, and for taking all reasonable measures to ensure that instances of racism and discrimination are immediately and appropriately addressed.
  2. The Policy will be reviewed annually for gauging its effectiveness and for proposing amendments deemed beneficial.
  3. The Anti-Racism Policy applies to all paid and volunteer staff, all ICNE members, guests and visitors.

If any issue or concern arise, then please reach out to the Intra-Faith committee chair person and/or contact us at intra-faith@icne.net.
