PROJECT EMPATHY

Disability Inclusion

Alhamdulillah, the Islamic Center of New England in Sharon and Quincy are committed to serving Muslims in our communities with Special Needs, Mental Health Struggles and Aging Related hardships.  In doing so, we  now have established a unique committee for this cause, Project Empathy. We are grateful to be partnering with MUHSEN, Muslims Understanding and Helping Special Education Needs towards gaining their certification.

ICNE Project Empathy is working towards increased awareness, accessibility and advocacy for our families who often feel marginalized as they strive with diverse illnesses, disabilities and aging related challenges. If you or someone you know finds it difficult to be a part of ICNE Masjids, we want you to know we acknowledge you as beautiful striving individuals and we are coming together for the sake of Allah in enabling these Houses of Allah to be those of warmth, acceptance and commitment.

As a result, we want to hear from YOU. We want to know what we can do to better serve you and your families with disabilities, mental illnesses and respected elders so that everyone can accept ICNE Sharon/Quincy as places where they are honored and empowered despite their trials.
